With a remarkable 35 years of industry experience, Mr. Pradeep Bagla is the name behind Amrit Cement, who took this company from its humble beginnings to its present leadership position. He is a graduate with an impressive educational history that includes Milling Technology from ISMT, CFTRI, Mysore, Executive Program from ISB, Hyderabad, and Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, USA.
A first-generation entrepreneur to the core, Mr. Bagla is renowned for his visionary ideas, strategic mindset, and knack for spotting opportunities before most. He noticed the growing demand for cement in infrastructure projects and construction activities, which led to him venturing into the Cement Industry with Amrit Cement.
As the Managing Director, he is involved in the day-to-day operations of the company. He has also been deeply involved in portfolio restructuring and turnaround of various business situations. Under his leadership, the Amrit Cement Plant was built and commissioned in a record time.
Along with strong business acumen, Mr. Bagla’s adeptness in handling sensitive issues around the environment, health, and education, and building a congenial relationship with the local community in and around the project areas, has made him a leader extraordinaire. He believes in giving back to the community and is deeply involved in transformation and empowerment of the society through various organizations.
He has always been an extraordinary leader, with numerous achievements and accreditations to his name. He is the Chairman of CII Assam State Council and a Member of the Executive Committee, Calcutta Swimming Club. He is also member of CII Task Force on Ease of Doing Business and CII National Committee on Skill Development & Livelihood.
Mr. Harish Kumar Kandoi comes to the Company with a strong entrepreneurial and management skill, with over 28 years of industry experience. He has joined as an Executive Director of Amrit Cement Limited, playing a pivotal role in the overall functioning of the business.
Mr. Kandoi has an excellent academic record with all-India rank in CA (Inter) & CA (Final) and Certificate of Merit in other courses. His core competency lies in the business management, strategic expertise and implementation, finance and audit, legal & risk management, and human resource management.
He has worked with some of the prestigious industrial houses like A. V. Birla, B. K. Birla and Ispat in various management functions. His experience in top management level in reputed companies, viz., Kesoram Industries Ltd., Amrit Group, Gontermann-Peipers India Ltd., HGI Ltd. spans over 23 years.
Mr. Kandoi is deeply involved in social welfare activities including various initiatives taken by St. Xavier’s College (Calcutta) Alumni Association. He is also a member of various professional bodies.
He has outstanding leadership qualities, and clearly demonstrated an ability to create an empowering and motivating environment among staff and partners, as well as fostering integration and teamwork.
A commerce graduate and a venerable part of the cement industry since 1995, Mr. Sunil Kumar Khemka has been actively involved in Amrit Cement, by virtue of his extensive experience of the cement industry in India and Nepal.
As the former Managing Director of Nirman Cements Limited and former Director of Butwal Cement Mills (P) Ltd. and Shree Maruti Cements Ltd., he has had a plethora of experience in the industry which gives him his edge.
He is well-versed in setting up and running cement plants of various sizes. His mainstay has been commissioning of the plant within scheduled time frame without cost overruns.
Hailing from one of the most reputed families in Meghalaya, with a renowned social activist who was conferred the ‘Padma Shree’ as his mother; Mr. Bhalang Singh Phanbuh is among the most remarkable names in the region.
He has a co-operative society called the ‘Primary Progressive Multi-Purpose Co-Operative Society (MUCOOP)’ and has been awarded ‘Excellence Award’ by National Co-operative Development Corporation under Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India.
Always a visionary in his approach, with big ideas and ethics for hard work, he has been a crucial part of Amrit and continues to add value to all he does.
Mr. Bharat Kumar Seta has over 35 years of experience of working with prestigious organisations like Brooke Bond, Champdany Group and Magma Group in Senior Management, as an Independent Director of Listed Company and as a fulltime practicing Chartered Accountant.
Presently, Mr. Seta is the managing partner of M/S K. N. Gutgutia & Co., a reputed C. A. Firm having its existence since 1949. He is the 36th Rank Holder in CA Intermediate Examination and 2nd Rank Holder in India in CS Final Examination. His core competency lies in the Business Start-up services, Corporate Laws and due diligence, Loan Syndication, M & A, Taxation, Finance and Audit. Mr. Seta has to his credit the setting up of business start-up services and incorporation of more than 30 Private Limited companies for foreign clients from Korea, UK and Australia.
